TP1 PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CLIENTS

"ON ICE"

Tate believes that no two players are alike and therefore through his years of experience and development, through TP1 Tate has assembled best in class coaches and programs that can be individually tailored to the specific needs of each player. This process and full scope of expertise has not been found in the sport until now. TP1 can provide the comprehensive tools and training to help players maximize their potential both on and off the ice. Philips believes that elite level hockey and academics coexist in our modern hockey world and are no longer mutually exclusive pathways in life. Through Tate’s TP1 development concept each players’ program and training can be tailored specifically to their goals and potential. The objective through TP1 is to develop players exhibiting high skill and high hockey IQ and awareness to create players you can trust in all situations at any time during a game at any level. Tate’s extensive network can geographically tailor each players program to a full suite of services such as strength and conditioning coaches, nutrition, and other sport performance specific training as requested. This allows for very tailored elite level performance training both on and off the ice. Tate’s success and experience with professional players allows him to keenly evaluate and assess what key factors have provided proven results at the elite levels of the game. Tate has the unique ability to breakdown to the most minute detail all technical aspects of the physical side of the game be it edgework, body position, weight transfer, stride, speed and power. Mr. Philips also believes that the ultimate TP1 player also must be schooled to elite levels of hockey IQ and “on ice” situational awareness to create proactive highly skilled and trusted “proactive” responsible players rather than reactive static players. It is Tate’s attention to detail with each individual player to provide detailed insights and knowledge to focus on the most specific details or tuning to achieve the maximum skill and IQ for all “on ice” scenarios.

"OFF ICE"

Tate’s Total Player 1 concept does not solely focus on the “on ice” player development but also mentors and develops players within his programs to respect, participate and value the broader community beyond the game. This broader view will develop the player to have a sense of community that will allow them to adjust to all pathways of success that the game of hockey can give them. Philips believes that the game of hockey will through the TP1 development will produce responsible, educated and respectful individuals who will bring all the positives from their training and will carry this forward into meaningful aspects of their lives beyond the sport. TP1’s goal is to ensure that the character and quality of the player is as important “off ice” as it is “on ice”. Tate emphasizes that this development of character is as key to the overall success for each player as the honing of elite levels skills and IQ on the ice.
